Greetings WUSD # 2 Parents & Guardians, This is Mr. Evans with a special reminder about the WUSD # 2 district app, powered by Apptegy. When searching in the App Store or Google Play, search “Williams USD # 2”. Download this free app and login with the credentials provided to you by our campuses. Once in the app, you’ll see a toggle icon in the bottom right corner, called “School App (and) Rooms”. When the school app is highlighted, you will have full, regular access to the district app, which shows things like our Live Feed, school events, breakfast and lunch menus, staff directory, athletic events, Bullying Report forms, and so much more. When you touch “Rooms” in the bottom right corner, it will take you to your child(ren) who attend WUSD schools. Directions on how to add a child, how to login, and other technical needs can be achieved by emailing our IT Team at techsupport@wusd2.org . Other apps such as Band, Remind, WhatsApp, etc. are no longer supported for use by the district. Rooms will be our streamlined, main sources of information. You will continue to receive text messages and Facebook postings from the district. So, what is Rooms? Rooms connects parents/guardians directly to their children and their children’s schedules, including directly connecting to your children’s teachers. Simply touch Menu in the bottom left to toggle between children, if you have more than 1 child. For each child there is Stream, Classwork, Messages, and Materials. Stream is like announcements. They are posted from the teacher to everyone in the classroom. You cannot reply back. Classwork is where a teacher can post assignments, showing what’s been turned in already and what has not. If your child’s teacher uses Google Classroom, those assignments should automatically show in this section on our app. Messages are where you have direct, two-way communication capabilities with your child(ren’s) teacher(s). Materials is where a teacher could upload documents, class handouts, and other important resources of class and/or school interest. All communications and activities are securely archived to maintain a professional and appropriate environment on this platform and to keep everyone safe and accountable. I cannot stress enough the importance of this app and the multiple features it offers students, teachers, parents, and guardians. If you have not done so already, please download this app today and work with our IT Team to get logged in and connect to your children and their teachers. This message is also cross posted to Facebook and our Live Feed in the event that you would like to go back and re-read any aspect of this message. Thank you and have a wonderful week.
