Greetings WUSD # 2: After much deliberation and consideration, we are going ahead and calling another Snow Day Cancellation for school tomorrow (1/28). There are simply too many folks still snowed in and no way for our buses to safely run tomorrow. Please continue to check in on friends, family, and neighbors to see how we may be of service to one another....making sure they have groceries, medications, etc. It is situations like these where we come to assist one another that make our community and our town so special. Greetings WUSD # 2 Families & Staff: Due to inclement weather, WUSD # 2 is canceling school for Monday (1/25) & Tuesday (1/26). These are snow day cancellations & there will be NO remote learning. Hello from the counselor's office. As we were not able to host in person college fairs or visits I have some recommendations. 1) You can attend the college fair virtually that is in the attached flyer. This is a fair for many area community colleges and smaller universities. Remember starting at a community college can save thousands on tuition whether you get a 2 year degree from them or use it to get coursework done and transfer to a 4 year university. You can register and find the list of colleges attending on their website (virualcollegefairs.org). 2) For any school you are thinking about attending (and this is for any grade) you should go to that college's website and through their admissions department you can have a virtual tour. I encourage anyone to do this as it gives you some information about the college, it doesn't take much time, and it is FREE! 3) I am here to answer any questions or to discuss thoughts about your student's future and path forward. On Saturday January 9th Amber McMahon, one of our amazing 2nd grade teachers, lost her husband in a car accident. This is a terrible loss for the family, especially for Mrs. McMahon and her children. The gravity of this loss is being felt around the community. The love and kindness of the community is the strongest gift we can give to the McMahon family in their time of grieving. Greetings WUSD # 2: A few moments ago, the AIA reversed it decision and there WILL BE a winter sports season! There will be additional modifications in place that we will share out later with our entire Williams Community... including new, mandatory modifications. It will be imperative that we follow these modifications to ensure our athletes can continue to compete. Game on!
